As reported by The Daily Mail, Everton are ready to make a move for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose this summer in a move that could go some way to soften the blow of a Romelu Lukaku departure.
Speculation regarding Lukaku’s future is rife with The Sun reporting recently that Manchester United are ready to pay mega-money to land the Belgian international.
Any departure of the fan favourite would leave a massive hole in the Everton first team and in order to guard against that, Ronald Koeman is ready to pay a large chunk of money for La Liga goalscorer Willian Jose.
That’s according to The Mail, who say that Everton are confident of landing the Brazilian for £28m, £5m short of his £33m buyout clause.
Willian Jose is a player who has hit double figures in Spanish football for each of the last three seasons and after a move to Real Sociedad last summer, appears to be getting better all the time.
He arrived in Europe from Brazil after initially signing for Real Madrid and although failing to make the grade there has become an impressive La Liga goalscorer. He has 12 goals for his club this season, also chipping in with 4 assists.
While he may not have the prowess or potential of Lukaku, he appears to be a solid option should the Toffees decided to cash in on their Belgian superstar.
